COLUMBUS, OH - The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio (CCEO) is pleased to announce the hiring of Matt Owen as the new Executive Director of the organization.

Earlier this spring it was announced that a new strategic partnership between the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance and the Northern Ohio Chambers of Commerce was formed to strengthen and re-imagine the over 100-year-old Chamber professionals’ organization.

“We are very excited to bring Matt Owen on board as our new Executive Director. Matt brings over 20 years of Chamber industry experience and strategic expertise to the table which the organization looks forward to leveraging,” said Travis Markwood, current Board Chair for CCEO.

Matt will start in his new role on July 8, 2024 and will be headquartered at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce offices, which is the home base for CCEO. In Matt’s first several months he will be tasked with working alongside the board on developing a new strategic plan for CCEO. The CCEO board of directors is looking forward to developing new programs and training that will provide valuable support to Chamber Executives, their employees and boards of directors throughout the state of Ohio.

"I am very excited for the opportunity to lead the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio,” said Matt Owen. “I am eager to collaborate with this esteemed organization to develop our chamber leaders, build effective support programs and resources that will strengthen our chambers across the state.”

Matt currently serves as the Executive Director of the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce. He has also led the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, Fairborn Area Chamber of Commerce and Preble County Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio is a career development organization serving the Chamber profession for more than 100 Years. Our programs and services provide direct education, support, and empowerment to chamber executives, chamber staff, its' boards of directors, and volunteers.
