We will not have a 2011 Summer Networking Conference- instead we are having the first Tri-State Conference in September. Click here for more information!

The Summer Networking Conference will be back in 2012!

2010 Summer Networking Conference

Another successful two days of networking, sharing ideas with peers and listening to some great speakers! This was one of our best years attendance-wise as we had 45 local chamber Executives together with 12 amazing sponsor companies.

We cannot pull off these conferences without the support of our sponsors. This year we welcomed back our friends at Citslinc Intl., Hampton Publishing, Weblink Intl., Careworks Consultants, CompManagement, Shawan Marquis Agency/ Anthem, Succession Planning Program at Kent State, CommunityLink, CompleteMember, NovoPrint USA Inc., Premier World Discovery & ChamberMaster. Thank you to all of our generous sponsors!

We began our conference Thursday earlier than in previous years with a welcome from our Chairman, Steve Millard. Steve mentioned that we would be having our Board Leadership Conference this September in place of our Regional Workshops - read more about that here! Another change that came to our summer program was more time with our sponsors. We set aside more time in the schedule to meet with the representatives as well as threw in a challenge- "Anyone who gets all signatures from every sponsor will get 2 free registrations to the Board Leadership Conference in September". Bill Diehl from Grove City was the only attendee to do so- Congrats Bill!

Jim Dittoe, former board member with ACCE was our first speaker for the conference as he spoke on Chambers as Community Leaders. Debra Lynn-Schmitz from Greater Medina held an interactive session on board leadership skills. Ratings came back great for this session!

Check out Jim's presentation here

Here are 4 handouts Debra wanted to share!

Our keynote speaker was non other than Mick Fleming, the President of ACCE. Mick spoke on chambers and the change coming in this Post Recession period.

Thursday wrapped up with another brand new addition to the summer conference program; Individual hospitality suites held by Mike McNeil and Angie Fallon from Hampton Publishing as well as Aaron Cox from Weblink International. Both suites were a rousing success as our attendees had time to network with our host sponsors and other attendees as well as have a little fun!

The entire legislative staff from the Ohio Chamber lead off our Friday sessions with a legislative update. Ben Taylor from the US Chamber held a discussion on health care, jobs and our economy immediately after.

Our breakout speakers were next with Greg Rosenberg from Business Communication Solutions, Inc. discussing Marketing on a Budget. Eileen Leuby from the New Albany Chamber discussed Tiered Dues as well. One of the favorite sessions of the conference was Ted Janusz presenting on Google. He gave the attendees some great tips and secrets to making the most of out of this website!

The conference was a great success and we thank everyone for coming out!  If you missed this conference, we hope to see you in February 2011!

We would like to thank our Co-Conference Chairs, Melissa Krebs and Michelle Masica as well as the Board of Directors for all their hard work!

Also- If you attended the conference and did not get a program, please let us know and we will send you one. cceo(at)ohiochamber.com
