Mission: Possible

With over 120 attendees and a line-up of great speakers from inside and outside of our business, the conference created the energy among many of our attendees to get back to their chamber and do some new things in 2010.

The conference was held at the newly renovated DoubleTree Columbus/Worthington. Nearly 90% of all participants rated this site 'Very Good' to 'Excellent' in the areas of location, facility, food, environment, food and service.

SESSIONS

The highest rated session was presented by Debra Lynn-Schmitz, Greater Medina Chamber CEO, on “Managing Your Micromanaging Board.” Other top rated sessions included a review of Social Networking uses titled, “Social Media Leaps.” New Chairman of the CCEO board, Steve Millard, COSE, shared this program they developed together with ACCE (the American Chamber of Commerce).

Also, Chris Brock, coined the “master of the written word” and Grassroots Manager at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, received very high marks for his upcoming issues report and advice on how to get the most out of your Grassroots Action Alerts. In a tag team duo, Linda Woggon, VP of Government Affairs at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, received praises for her well-researched presentation on “Forming a PAC and Other How to Tips For Effecting Local Issues and Candidates.”

Other valued tools needed by Chamber professionals to operate in 2010 and beyond included sessions by speaker Duanne Swift from Organization Dynamics in Connecticut and hypnotist, Bill Gladwell. CCEO is also fortunate to have a friend in Kordell Norton who advanced the marketing skills of conference goers and even filled in an extra hour spur of the moment for Duanne Swift who experienced travel delays. Thanks to all of our conference speakers!
