Each September, the Board of Directors meets for two days to review progress made in the current year's Program of Works - our business plan - and to update and develop new priorities and goals for the coming year and beyond.

A. MISSION DIVISIONS
Professional Development & Support: Marla Akridge, Vice Chair (Ashland) & Jan Hills (Reynoldsburg)
Focused on programs & services that support our members' needs for professional development, growth & recognition.
-> Continue Winter & Summer Conferences
-> Continue Professional-of-the-Year and CCEO-AP recognitions,
Peer Resource Bank & Job Postings
-> Conduct regional Board Leadership Symposiums
-> Peer Resource Bank
-> Conduct Staff Development workshops
Facilitation Services: Debra Lynn-Schmitz, Vice Chair (Medina), Cheri Hottinger (Licking County) & Doug Johnson (Twinsburg)
Provide facilitation services to the chambers of our members and related associations in such areas as:
-> Develop “certified” Facilitation Leaders (Train-the-Trainers) in 1st Qtr. of
2009 with representatives from all six regions
-> Provide on-line webinars on specific topics of interest to our members
-> Conduct a series of monthly classes on each of the U.S. Chamber’s
Accreditation categories with U.S. Chamber’s support, and mentoring
assistance by Execs whose chambers are accredited
Chamber & Business Research: Marie Pucak, Vice Chair (Mentor) & Charlotte Keim (Marietta)
Conduct and publish reports on issues that are relevant to our members and their chambers on topics such as:
-> Acquire/purchase an electronic survey tool to facilitate tabulation of surveys
& production of reports on programs & issues conducted by CCEO that can
also be made available to our members as an added-value benefit at a fee to
generate additional revenue for CCEO
-> Continue conducting our annual Salary & Benefits survey and report
-> Aggressively market BJ’s “Business Needs Survey” to develop state-wide
business needs benchmarks
Technology & Communications: Marvin Jones, Vice Chair (Chillicothe-Ross) & Ed Wallace (Logan County Area)
Evaluate tech programs & systems that will enhance CCEO's productivity & effectiveness; Facilitate effective and relevant communications that will meet our members' needs for timely information and the exchange of best practices. through such means as:
-> Implement on-line registration and credit card payment option on our
website
-> Set up “Peer-to-Peer Message Board” online with instructional podcasts &
videos
-> Start a CCEO “List-serve”
B. SUPPORT DIVISIONS
Membership: Eileen Leuby, Vice Chair (New Albany), Karen Haley (Wilmington-Clinton County) & Vicki Lowery (Tiffin)
Maximize membership retention, attraction and assimilation of staff representing all of Ohio's chambers, and businesses that are in support of our vision & mission by providing services and products of value to the local chambers, their business member-investors & CCEO.
-> Focus on high membership retention; Implement strategies to attract the
very small chambers, including those led by volunteers with no paid staff
Financial: Doug Johnson, Vice Chair (Twinsburg), Janet Davis (Westerville), Andy Doehrel (Ohio Chamber), Marvin Jones (Chillicothe-Ross), Debra Lynn-Schmitz (Medina) & Mark V'Soske (Toledo)
Develop strategies designed to provide the necessary financial & other resources needed to support our vision, mission and Program of Works, including:
-> Establish a 501c3 CCEO Foundation to seek grants & other support in line
with our mission
Policy & Administration: Roger Blackburn, Vice Chair (Fayette County), Andy Doehrel (Ohio Chamber).
Oversee and review CCEO's operating policies & practices and, as necessary, recommend changes or additions designed to improve operational policies, practices & procedures:
-> Review CCEO’s constitution and other policies (Note: Whether or not to
do this should be decided annually.)
