“EFFECTIVE BOARDS CREATE RELEVANT CHAMBERS”

These half-day symposiums are conducted annually in 5 or 6 locations around the state in November/December.  They are specifically aimed at your board of directors, especially your new or incoming officers, and new board members.

Purpose of these symposiums are to: 

• Sharpen your board members’ understanding of the uniqueness of the “Chamber of Commerce” vs. other community organizations, and their role & responsibilities in governing your chamber;
• Strengthen your board leaders’ focus on near and long-term issues that affect your community’s environment for the growth of business and commerce;
• Address governance, organizational and other issues that tend to weaken a chamber’s  effectiveness and relevance;
• Share ideas with peers from other chambers on "staying-on-mission-point" during the current economic challenges.
